Mrs. Shontell White
Hello, my name is Shontell White. I am one of the Family Service and Parent Involvement Managers for Putnam County Head Start. I have worked in early childhood since 2001 as a paraprofessional for the Georgia Lottery Funded Pre-K program, a teacher for Easter Seals Head Start, the bookkeeper and Backpack Club coordinator(weekend food program for low income students) for Greensboro Elementary. I received a BA in Social Science from Ashford University, and I am currently working on a Master degree in Professional Counseling at Grand Canyon University. I have a wonderful husband of 8 yrs, Reginald White, and five handsome boys, A’Maury, Darius, RJ, Mekhi, and Bryson. In my spare time I love to read, counsel those who require a listening ear and positive advice, and most of all I love singing.
Mrs. Sandra D. Riley
Hi, my name is Sandra D. Riley. I work at Putnam County Head Start as a Family Service Worker and Nutrition Specialist. I was born in Eatonton, Ga. I am married to Tommy Riley and have one son Correy. I attended my schooling middle and high in Boston, Massachusetts, graduated class of 1982 school year. Living in Boston was a great experience for me I moved back home in 1989. In 1991 , starting working at Head Start where I received my (CDA) Childhood Development Associate Certificate also my Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, also some Training course with Macon State College in Early Education. I enjoy working with children we learn from each other in my experience no one day is the same. My favorite things to do are shopping, watching sports and outdoors and I love walking as a special past time. My name is Marcus Swain and I was born and raised in Eatonton, Georgia. My parents are David and Charlene Swain. During my senior year, while attending Putnam County High School, I was awarded a scholarship to attend Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina where my focus was in Mathematics. While attending Benedict College I was able to study my passion for singing and received the opportunity to sing throughout the United States, the White House, and overseas. As a result of the support I received from my parents, Putnam County High School, Benedict College, and church, I am working as an Education Manager for Putnam County Head Start.
Mrs. Valeria Hightower
My name is Valeria Hightower and I am the Health/Safety Manager at Putnam County Head Start. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and an Associate degree in Nursing. I have over 20 years of experience working in a healthcare facility for the State of Georgia. I have a loving husband, and five wonderful kids. My family keeps me going with the grace and love for God. My vast knowledge of health and safety will continue to keep Putnam County Head Start up to date with standards. The children are in school most of their awakening hours and I want to continue to be an important part of making their environment safe, stable and nurturing. Working with staff, parents and the community will give the children of our future the knowledge and skills to succeed.
Mrs. Martha Batchelor
My name is Martha Batchelor. I am the Fiscal Officer for Putnam County Head Start. I have lived in Putnam County most of my life. I am married to Edward Batchelor , I have four sons. I have worked in Putnam County Head Start for two years, and I love every minute of it. I love seeing our children coming down our halls giving me hugs and high-five. I have been in accounting/bookkeeper for 37 years. In my time after from work I love camping, wood working, painting and crafting.
